Hotel Modest But Acceptable, nr. Eyrie, PA.

This is a smelly room. A smoky, smelly room. Although we are on a no smoking floor, the bathroom fan blows smoke in from a smoking floor.

In the modest breakfasting area, the tv was on & set to CNN (as seems to be customary in most modest motel breakfasting areas). This is not ideal for digesting, along with food, nor to accompany reflective reading. Following the news-news, at 09.00 a programme appeared featuring interviews with people who had seen their mothers murdered. Somehow, this is not quite the right programming choice to accompany my beginning-day reflection and/or breakfasting.

Q: Who is responsible for this?
A: No one is responsible. It just is. The tv is on. It’s there. It’s set to CNN.

While checking in last night, an El Crumpo of John’s Powerbook: dropped from chest height off the check-in desk. Good-bye computer.

An e-flurry now underway. Online, but AOL is in crashing mode.

11.55 I have an hour at the nearby Barnes & Noble while John & Biff have lunch. Then, on to Pittsburgh.

17.23 Rex Pit Of Dirt & Terror, Pittsburgh.

Leaving the Barnes & Noble somewhere near Eyrie, while climbing over a suitcase into the Eddie, a massive El Crumpo of my head. This paralleled the massive El Crumpo of John’s Mac last night. John is subscribing to the notion that it was an intentional-untintentional act to encourage him to acquire a new model Mac Beast of Computing Wonderment. I have no compensating rationale: the crump travelled down into my neck.

The Rex has as grubby a backstage area as I can remember, exceeding Toad’s Place in New Haven by several magnitudes of horror. The dressing room/s might be unchanged since 1970 & uncleaned in the duration.

A very good audience. All Quarters’ Maintainer: Hellboy Tom.

Shortly, a drive to somewhere en route to Ann Arbor.
